What does a customs broker do?

A customs broker acts on behalf of companies before the customs administration — preparing declarations, checking documents and following the process. In Türkiye, customs brokerage is a profession licensed and supervised by the Ministry of Trade.

Which documents are required for import?

Usually a commercial invoice, a transport document (bill of lading, CMR or air waybill) and a packing list. Depending on the goods, origin or movement certificates (EUR.1, A.TR), freight and insurance documents, and permits, conformity or control documents may be required. The exact list depends on the type and origin of the goods and the procedure.

How long does clearance take?

It depends on the type of goods, whether the documents are ready and the type of inspection (document check, physical inspection, etc.). We share a realistic timeline for your shipment during the preliminary review.

What do we need to start working together?

For the first call, a description of your goods and the documents you have are enough. We then complete the steps required for us to represent your company before customs.
